Early Life and Education
Sabin grew up in a middle-class family, with his father Sanja Rai and mother Manju Rai. He completed his primary education in Dharan and achieved his School Leaving Certificate (SLC) but chose not to pursue higher education. His interest in music began in his youth, influenced by various artists, including Narayan Gopal, whose music he discovered while working abroad.
Musical Career
Sabin Rai started his music career in 1992 after returning to Nepal. He gained significant recognition with his first successful single, “Komal Tyo Timro,” from his debut album Sataha, released in 2000. The album included other popular tracks like “Gurash Ko Fed Muni”, “Maya Jalaima” and “Timro Naam Timi Bina,” which helped establish him as a leading figure in the Nepali music scene.
He later formed his band, “Sabin Rai & The Pharaoh,” and has performed in numerous countries, including Australia, the UK, and the USA. Throughout his career, he has released several albums, including Nine, Sataha 2, and Ranga Manch Ko Rang, and has received multiple awards for his contributions to music.
Personal Life
Sabin is married to Nisha Rai, and they have two daughters, Tiamo and Dayleemo. He is known for his down-to-earth personality and often shares that his family is supportive of his music career.
