Diwas Gurung is a Nepali singer, songwriter, and music producer who has made a significant impact on the modern Nepali music scene. Born and raised in Kathmandu, Gurung’s musical journey began in Nepal, where he was part of various bands.
In 2002, Gurung moved to the United States to pursue a degree in economics, but his passion for music never faded. He continued to make music while living in New York, experimenting with production and learning the art of recording.
Gurung’s big break came when he produced and engineered Bartika Eam Rai’s album “Bimbaakash”. This project propelled him into the spotlight as a sought-after music producer, and he has since worked with other prominent Nepali artists such as Bikki Gurung, Yugal Gurung, and Dibesh Pokharel (Arthur Gunn).
Some of his popular hits includes “Machi Kadaile”, “Bimaan”, “Laijau” and more.
Apart from his production work, Gurung is also known for his own music. His lyrics are meaningful and nostalgic, and his soulful vocals and rhythmic melodies have earned him a loyal following. He writes, records, and performs original music in both Nepali and English.
In 2023, Gurung is set to perform in Dharan for the first time, much to the excitement of his fans in Nepal. He continues to share his music on his YouTube channel, where he has amassed a significant fanbase.
