Sajjan Raj Vaidya is a popular Nepali singer, songwriter, and lyricist from Kathmandu, Nepal. He rose to prominence in 2016 with the release of his hit single “Hawaijahaj”.
Vaidya’s music is known for its expressive vocals, poetic lyrics, and unique song structures that take listeners on a complete musical journey. Some of his other well-known songs include “Hataarindai, Bataasindai”, “Phutki Janey Jovan”, “Lukaamaari”, and “Ek Sarvanaam”.
Born in 1993, Vaidya was introduced to music by his family from a young age. He started performing live during school and later began sharing his work on Facebook. In addition to his original songs, he is also known for his covers of classic Nepali bands like Sabin Rai, Uglyz, and 1974 AD.
Vaidya’s 2019 single “Hataarindai, Bataasindai” featured a gay couple kissing in the music video, making him one of the few Nepali artists to represent the LGBTQ community. He has also started a popular YouTube series called “Katha” where he discusses and performs acoustic versions of songs with other artists.
In 2022, Vaidya became the most streamed Nepali artist on Spotify, both in Nepal and internationally. He continues to perform sold-out concerts and release new music that connects with his growing fanbase
